Yes we are self catering - everything you need (all you need is your food and your cooking skills). Your first coffee & tea is on the house - you will find it in your locker !

No - we provide everything - you can even rent a beach towel - as we prohibit you taking our bath towels to the beach !

No unfortunately not - we are strict on safety and security - therefore only paying guests on site.

Of course we do !  We like you all to be happy, clean and fresh - laundry will be a payable item - we do not iron !

We are on the fringes of the Muizenberg waterfront - away from clubs, pubs or restaurants. No noise will interfere with your nights sleep - but close enough to walk there.

Quiet time is from 10:30p.m. to 10a.m.

We are the closest hostel in Muizenberg to the beach about 60 meters.

We mostly have young solo European travellers with a mixed of locals.  We attract a top end traveller (still on a budget), those who wants their privacy - that's why our capsules are so popular.

Our capsules are private you will find your own safe - fan and light (with your bed and linen inside) - you can however close your capsule and lock it.

Whereas a dorm is not very private and you have a locker to safeguard your belongings - but if someone switch the lights on it could bother a light sleeper.

Plenty depending on what you want to do -

Surfing we have our own surf coaches - yes they are more expensive than going to a surf shop but they give you independent advice and teach you how to surf the techniques in paddling - pop up and balance - safety tips - how to read a wave - wave selection & manouvres.  Encouraging you to continue the sport not a one day fun in the water approach.

Kelp Snorkelling - we have a Qualified Diver that takes small pax numbers out with all gear and the most popular would be penguin & kelp snorkelling - with all gear and transport.

We are affiliated with Kite Surfing + Paragliding + Diving companies to introduce you to for better fees and discounts etc

We collaborate with many businesses in our area - we have a barber and hairdresser that will give you better rates when you come from our establishment.

I'm glad you asked me that - South Africans braai it's a THING !  We use wood fires and we "kuier" around our braai(s) its extremely social - we do not braai meat patty's - we braai meat - wors - lamb chops and skilpaadtjies IT'S A NATIONAL WEEKEND OCCASION IN SUMMER - the again a true South African braai summer or winter throughout the week !

When you are here we will show you how - we will even show you what's a POTJIE !

We treat our guests with honour and respect and we expect the same from you ...... our Honesty Bar is you help yourself to drinks and snacks you tick it off on your own slip which is provided and we take stock n the morning and you come sort out your bill with us in the morning.  This way you can snack throughout the night without having to go out.

Access to our property is by codes - 2 doors to enter (you are to keep both doors securely locked) - YOU DO NOT OPEN ANY DOOR TO LET SOMEBODY IN - as everybody are given their own codes, do not fall for "I forgot my PIN number" - that's not your problem.

We also have our own Private Security - which by a push of a button will visit our site.

Safety in Muizenberg are relatively excellent during the day - but we do warn not to walk ALONE AT NIGHT AFTER DARK.

Use an Uber when you must.

We suggest you download the Uber app - and be transported from them - when you are alone (female) you can send your Uber Location to the owners.  An Uber should take 30 minutes max to us unless you are stuck in peak traffic.

Remember Rather safe than Sorry !

Absolutely YES - we only communicate with you via WHATSAPP - once or even before you book with us - therefore when you book use your WhatsApp number on your booking app -  not the SA SIM card number you go, as that will not connect us to your WA - a mistake plenty foreigners make.

We have 12 official languages in SA - believe you me, we get along !!!  LoL ....... I can guarantee you - your English is better than my German or French !  We will compromise and use google - no worries Hakuna Matata !

Check in is from about 2p.m. (after we have done our cleaning chores - after guests leave) up until 4p.m. - when our Reception closes.

Strictly at 10a.m. - as we need to strip your bed - disinfect your sleeping quarters - and get it in order for the next person who comes in from 2p.m. onwards (meaning we only have a cleaning window of 4 hours) - we need to be quick and efficient.

That's not a train smash - you send us your passport or ID picture via whatsapp.  You will pay a Breakage & Key deposit upfront - and we will send you your access codes and leave your key somewhere safe for you to find !

Is the Pope a Catholic ?  Of course we do !  Fast Reliable Fibre - we will send you your password as soon as you book in (or if you book in after hours - you will receive same via WhatsApp).

No not at all - we are not your parents !  But we will give you sound advice on anything else !

No we do not have room for couples - but if you small and you are a couple and you think you will sleep comfortably on a ¾ bed - the pay in an extra R150,00 for your partner !  These are only applicable on capsules 7-8-9 & 10.

PS:- We do not do that a few hours stay over - we not like that !

We have 4 x bathrooms - fully equipped with shower gel - shampoo - conditioner - double ply toilet paper - hand wash - earbuds - condoms.  Gets cleaned twice a day - fancy shower with 5 settings - basin & toilet.  They are used by all.

Load-shedding is when our electricity provider Eskom - switches electricity off power to certain areas to balance the demand and supply, it's like a rolling blackout - it's a real pain especially if you watching something interesting or cooking.  But at Cape Capsules WE HAVE SOLAR - THE LIGHTS, THE TV, THE WI-FI  AND THE HOT WATER IS ALWAYS ON !

We have a dedicated Nomad space on our Mezzanine floor with 3 x desks for your needs and strong Wi-Fi.

At Cape Capsules you become family - to us you are not a number but an individual human being - we treat you with respect and dignity - we teach you about South Africa (cultural and some slang words)- we share our wisdom we make you feel part of a family - our guest are 90% recurring guests - once they've visited Cape Capsules they always come back !  But best of all we learn from you !

All walking distance away - supermarket for groceries - pharmacies - pubs & restaurants.

OFF SITE ONLY - parking is safe always lock your car and do not leave anything on your seats in eye view.

We do not really have a garden we do have a lot of pot plants and we grow some fresh veggies like green peppers and chillies - which you are welcome to use for cooking.  At the back of our premises we have braai facility with outside garden furniture.  Upstairs we have a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean - there are couches and chairs to use as well as some space for yoga.
